Based on these dates and according to the deadlines set forth in the Regulations, the deadlines will be established for submitting modifications to the proposal and for depositing the Degree Final Project for each of the calls.
4. Academic activities
The development of the Degree Final Project (DFP) is based on two types of learning activities:
- AUTONOMOUS WORK: with the support of the teacher who performs the direction each student will have to demonstrate a continuous ability to take initiatives, manage information and to express their knowledge in an adequate way.
- TUTORIALS: the teacher in charge of the direction will guide and solve any doubts that may arise during the production of the work. The schedule and planning of the Final Project will be agreed between each student and the assigned teacher.
For the Degree Final Project, the students will choose a topic on which to develop their work, selecting two clinical cases carried out in the Dental Practice Service.
The proposal will be prepared and submitted to the Quality Assurance Committee of the Degree for approval (the clinical cases chosen must have been expressly indicated in the form for Informed Consent for Comprehensive Dental Treatment used in the Dental Practice Service, that they agree that the data and images taken during the global dental treatment can be used for this purpose).
The Degree Final Project will be materialized in a written report that will be accompanied by the material that each student deems appropriate, taking into account the guidelines set forth in the Regulations. Please note that all information subject to the Data Protection Law (including clinical and radiological images) should not be included in the report, but will form part of the Annexes to the report.
Subsequently, in a public session, each student will present and defend before a board the two clinical cases, will have to demonstrate their ability to transmit the knowledge acquired and answer questions from the board.
5. Assessment system
- The direction of the Degree Final Project) will evaluate the activity carried out by the student throughout the academic year (15% of the final grade) as well as the quality of the final report (15% of the final grade) according to the criteria of the corresponding evaluation instruments (Documents C.1 and C.2 available in the Regulations for the Preparation of Final Degree and Master's Degree Projects in the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences ). The grading of both parts will be made with a numerical grade between 0 and 10. The minimum grade to be eligible for the presentation and defence, obtained from the average of both grades, must be equal to or higher than 5 out of 10.
- Each student will carry out the presentation and defence of their Degree Final Project before the Board, which will have an evaluation instrument to grade both the oral presentation and the defence of the project (Document C.3 available in the aforementioned Regulations). The grade will be made with a numerical grade between 0 and 10 and will represent 70% of the final grade of the subject . In the event that the board gives the paper a grade lower than 5, it will issue a report detailing the deficiencies, both methodological and content, that justify such grade, indicating the modifications that must be made to the paper, and a new defence must be made.
- The final grade of the Degree Final Project will be recorded in Document C.4 available in the Regulations, which must be completed by the board of examiners at the end of the defence.
- The review of the qualification will follow the procedure established in the Regulations. In the event that the Final Project Grade is graded as Not Submitted or Failed, it may be withdrawn for modification, if deemed appropriate.
